Euthanasia Services
If you are considering euthanasia, our team can explain what to expect and review costs before your visit.
Euthanasia and hospital services are billed by Mass Vet. Cremation and memorial services are arranged and paid for separately through Final Gift Pet Memorial Center.
Cremation Options
Communal Cremation
Your pet's ashes are not returned. Final Gift incorporates communal ashes into memorial reef structures that support marine habitat.
Private Cremation
Your pet is cremated individually and their ashes are returned to you.
Urns, paw prints, keepsakes, and other memorial options are available through Final Gift for an additional cost. All cremation arrangements and payments are completed directly through Final Gift. For assistance, call (508) 393-0133.
Receiving Your Pet's Ashes
Ashes and keepsakes may be returned to Mass Vet for pickup or shipped directly to your home for an additional fee. Final Gift will notify you when items are ready for pickup. Mass Vet will hold ashes and keepsakes for 30 days, after which they will be returned to Final Gift for coordination with your family.
Personal Items
Approved items that may accompany your pet include small cotton, bamboo, or linen blankets or fabric, letters, photographs, unpackaged treats, flowers, and collars. Toys, stuffed beds, large or synthetic blankets, weighted blankets, and jewelry cannot be accepted.
Please keep anything you wish to preserve at home, as items that cannot be cremated may be discarded and cannot be returned.
Home Burial & Other Arrangements
If you choose home burial, a cardboard casket and ink paw print are available upon request. Mass Vet can care for your pet for up to three days while arrangements are made. Please call (781) 932-5802 at least four hours before pickup. Families may also arrange care through another pet funeral or burial service.
