Christina Murphy

Dr. Christina Murphy graduated University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2019. Her clinical training began as a small animal rotating intern in small animal medicine and surgery at the MSPCA Angell Animal Medical Center. Following her internship, Dr. Murphy completed a one-year specialty internship in small animal surgery at Dallas Veterinary Surgery Center. Following her internships, Dr. Murphy completed a three-year residency in small animal surgery at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates outside of Philadelphia, PA. Before veterinary medicine, she spent 6 years as an Advertising Executive in NYC after obtaining a B.S. In Business from Ithaca College.

Dr. Murphy joined the MVRH veterinary team in 2025, as a specialist in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, including critical care, oncology, and brachycephalic airway surgeries. Dr Murphy also has an interest in orthopedic surgery, including fracture repairs and cranial cruciate ligament injuries. Her residency research looked at the prevalence of second-side cruciate ligament tears in older dogs. Dr. Murphy enjoys working as a team with owners to determine the best plan for each patient. In her spare time, she loves to try new restaurants in Boston and explore the local beaches with her 3 dogs (Emma and Logan, both cavaliers, and Parker, an English cream golden).
