Emma Hartzel

A graduate of Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Hartzel has a special interest in emergency medicine, cardiology, and making veterinary care accessible and affordable. Her passion for veterinary medicine began while working at a therapeutic farm, where she saw firsthand the meaningful connection between people and animals.

She especially enjoys supporting pets and their families through challenging moments and strives to make veterinary visits as comfortable as possible, particularly for anxious patients. She is excited to continue learning from the talented mentors and specialists at Mass Vet.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, running, hiking, backpacking, camping, and traveling. At home, she shares her life with Frog, a 4-year-old cat, and Winnie, a goofy 2-year-old Italian Spinone.
