Hannah Gafen

Dr. Hannah Gafen decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine after recognizing the important intersection between animal health, human health, and environmental health. She was inspired to become the advocate her patients deserve.

She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2020 from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Gafen completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. She went on to complete a specialty internship and a comparative ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2025, she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (DACVO).

Dr. Gafen enjoys all aspects of ophthalmology, with a particular interest in improving patient comfort and well-being, as well as surgical interventions for a variety of ophthalmic disorders. She is passionate about strengthening the bond between pets and their families through restoring vision, relieving discomfort, and providing clear communication and education.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Gafen enjoys traveling, pilates, hiking, and adventuring with her dog, Lily.
