Kirsten Andersson

Dr. Kirsten Andersson was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Purdue University for her undergraduate degree and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 2021. She then completed a one-year rotating internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego before returning to the Midwest to pursue a specialty internship in medical oncology at the University of Wisconsin. She stayed at the University of Wisconsin to complete her medical oncology residency in 2026.

While Dr. Andersson enjoys all aspects of medical oncology, she is passionate about helping families navigate the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. She strives to provide individualized treatment recommendations that prioritize both quality of life for each pet as well as the goals of each family.

Outside of work, Dr. Andersson enjoys reading, working out, traveling, and spending time with her husband, her cat, Oliver (aka Pudge), and her golden retriever, Juniper.
