Dr. Nicole Amato graduated Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine receiving her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2004. Her clinical training began as an small animal rotating intern in small animal medicine and surgery at the New England Animal Medical Center in Bridgewater, MA. Following her internship, Dr. Amato completed a three year joint residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and Angell Animal Medical Center. After being accepted as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009, Dr. Amato remained in the Tufts Community as a small animal surgeon and clinical assistant professor at Tufts V.E.T.S. Most recently, Dr. Amato has held positions at Boston West Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital and Veterinary Neurology and Pain Management Center of New England.
Dr. Amato joined the MVRH veterinary team in 2018, as a specialist in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, including wound repair and reconstruction, surgical oncology, thoracic surgery, and the surgical management of extrahepatic portosystemic shunts. The backbone of her practice is the personalized care that she strives to offer to all patients and their families. She makes every effort to bring a comprehensive, multimodal approach involving pain management and individualized postoperative care to all of her cases.
In Dr. Amato’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband, Chris, their two young sons, Evan and Liam and their menagerie of pets.
