Rebecca Waugaman
Originally from New Hampshire, Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Administration from Stonehill College while simultaneously studying biology. Following graduation, she worked in administration at Boston Children’s Hospital within the Division of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology for several years and then worked with individuals with various levels of disability at Jewish Family and Children’s Services. Her education and experience in the healthcare industry as well as a strong focus on hospitality led her to an interest in the Client Concierge Supervisor position she accepted in 2014 at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. Shortly thereafter, she was accepted into the Management Trainee program where she worked alongside the hospital service managers for two years.
In 2017, Rebecca accepted the position of Hospital Services Manager for Client Services. Her responsibilities included developing and cultivating the Client Care and Concierge teams to provide the highest level of service for clients, overseeing the operation of the department, and developing new ideas to create an exceptional client experience.
In 2019, Rebecca accepted the position of Hospital Services Manager, Medicine Services. In her new role, Rebecca continues to develop and oversee the growing Social Work department and the Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, and Internal Medicine services. She also continues to spearhead new ideas to enhance the client experience through a variety of different initiatives.
In addition to her hospital responsibilities, Rebecca has been an active volunteer with the Somerville Dog Festival for the past five years, which is a major charitable endeavor. She became the festival organizer in 2019, which provides Mass Vet an opportunity to give back to the community.
Outside of work Rebecca enjoys visiting her family and friends, ice skating, watching baseball, hiking with her dog Lachlan, and her newfound interest in sailing
