Sarah Klein
Dr. Klein received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. Her clinical training began with a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell West in Waltham, MA. Following her internship, Dr. Klein completed a three-year residency in anesthesia and analgesia at North Carolina State University.
Dr. Klein joined the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital team in 2025 as a specialist in anesthesiology and analgesia. She has a special interest in intra-operative and post-operative analgesia, with a strong focus on providing pain-free, nausea-free, and comfortable anesthetic experiences for her patients. She also has a particular interest in managing anxious or nervous pets, taking a compassionate approach and using case-specific anti-anxiety and sedative medications to create positive outcomes.
In her spare time, Dr. Klein enjoys hiking, traveling, and cooking with her husband. She also shares her home with Axel, a two-year-old Labrador Retriever and former service dog who recently joined their family.
