Elizabeth Austin
Dr. Elizabeth Austin is an Emergency and Critical Care veterinarian at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. She is a Massachusetts native who grew up in the Metrowest area before attending Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. She then went on to pursue her veterinary education overseas at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. After graduation, Dr. Austin sought out further training in the form of both rotating and specialty internships. After completing her post-graduate training, she worked at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists before joining Mass Vet in 2022.
Dr. Austin enjoys all aspects of emergency and critical care medicine, but her special interests include trauma and surgical emergencies.
Throughout her undergraduate and veterinary degrees, Dr. Austin pursued externships and additional learning experiences in exotic pet medicine, wildlife and marine mammal medicine, as well as in veterinary forensic medicine and mass casualty/disaster response medicine. She has volunteered with a number of local and national veterinary groups and plans on continuing to do so.
During her free time, Dr. Austin spends time with her pup, Crackle, as well as with friends and family. She also enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time at the beach.
