Dr. McDermott received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University. She completed a rigorous internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital prior to moving to Massachusetts to pursue a career in critical care medicine. Her academic interests include clotting disorders, transfusion medicine, sepsis, toxicities, wildlife medicine, and inpatient care.

Dr. McDermott is a chihuahua enthusiast and will make a point to say hi to any Chi that comes through the ER when she is around. She understands that it’s hard to be tiny.
